# Wandering Gem Merchant

## Overview

To celebrate the **6th Anniversary**, a hidden **Wandering Gem Merchant** roams the world selling **Anniversary Gems** — the currency you'll trade in at the [Anniversary Reward Shop](/content/pve-content/seasonal-events/anniversary-reward-shop.md) for this year's costume auras.

The twist: he never stays in one place, his price is **different every time he appears**, and he only announces a short list of towns where he *might* be. You'll have to search the streets to find him — and be quick, because he wanders off shortly after he's discovered.

## How to Participate

1. **Watch server announcements.** When the merchant appears, a green announcement goes out server-wide (and to Discord) with the day's gem price.
2. **Check the possible towns.** The announcement lists a few cities — including **decoys**. He's only really in one of them.
3. **Search and find him.** He can appear in **Prontera, Geffen, Payon, Alberta, Aldebaran, Izlude, Morroc, or Comodo**. The first player to find him triggers another announcement so everyone knows the town.
4. **Buy your gems** before he moves on — you can purchase up to **10 gems per visit**.

## The Price Changes Every Time

The merchant **re-rolls his Zeny price each time he appears** (and again whenever he relocates), so the cost per gem is never the same twice. The announcement always states the current price, so check before you buy.

He only sticks around for about **30 minutes** per appearance (with a 5-minute warning before he leaves), and he **slips away to a new spot shortly after the first player finds him**. Don't wait around!

## When Does He Appear?

He shows up at **random times** throughout the anniversary period — roughly **once an hour**, but with a random delay, so there's no exact schedule to camp. Occasionally a GM will trigger a **Happy Hour**, which spawns the merchant and **reveals his exact town** so the whole server can rush over.
